Kingdom names are two facts in one word. Anglland is "land of the Angles": angl (of the Angles) + land. Here are names for kingdoms with their parts on the table:102 of them, dynasty roots and land suffixes, six real realms included, each row carrying its receipt.
One dynasty root plus one land suffix, joined. That is the whole population of this list: every row passes the dynasty-plus-suffix criterion, meaning it names a holder and a territory. Real stems say documented; invented stems say invented; the last six rows are real realms, labeled attested. Names bold, glosses italic, nothing between the rows.

How do kingdom names work?
Bind a stem to a land word. England is angl plus land, "land of the Angles." Denmark is dan plus mark, "borderland of the Danes." The stem names the people or house; the suffix names the geography or the politics: mark for a border, gard for a stronghold, heim for a home, shire for an administered district, ia for the Latin realm form. The grammar is real toponymy, not a fantasy invention: the map of Europe was labeled this way, and readers parse the pattern without knowing why. The naming craft behind it, meaning and sound and fit, is taught on the how to name a character page, in its worldbuilding section.
Real realms, decomposed
Six attested kingdoms, parsed with the same grammar this list uses. The suffix is doing a different job in each row: people, border, road, direction, valley, realm. That spread is the lesson. Pick the job, and the suffix picks itself.

Kingdom name questions, answered
What suffix do kingdom names use?
The real ones use land words: land, mark, gard, heim, shire, ia, stan. England is angl plus land. Denmark is dan plus mark. Jotunheim ends in heim, "home." Pick the suffix for the geography you want the name to claim: borderland (mark), stronghold (gard), home (heim), district (shire).
Are these kingdom names real?
Six rows are real realms, and they say so. England, Denmark, Norway, Wessex, Strathclyde, and Burgundy are attested historical kingdoms with their decompositions. Every other row is a build from the same grammar: documented stems where documented, invented stems labeled invented.
What is a good kingdom name?
One that records two facts: who holds it, and what kind of land it is. Pick a stem for the people or house, a suffix for the territory, and check the receipt still parses. Valmark, "borderland of the vale folk," works because both halves carry weight. Build your own in the generator.
Where the meanings come from.Land suffix glosses follow published place-name scholarship; every receipt example (England, Denmark, Jotunheim, Yorkshire, Strathclyde) is a real attested toponym.
